Dean Reed Cantó sin Permiso Para Mineros de El Teniente

Autoridades regionales habian prohibido su presentacion.

RANCAGUA (Por Maria Cristina Prudant). - El cantante norteamericano Dean Reed actuo para los mineros de El Teniente en un show realizado en el Sindicato Industrial Sewel y Mina, a beneficio de los trabajadores despedidos de la empresa.

A pesar de las reiteradas advertencias de las autoridades regionales, que le informaron que no podia hacer ningun tipo de presentacion, el artista subio al escenario a recibir un pequeno obsequio de los trabajadores e interpreto, ante las exigencias del publico, variados temas en ingles y espanol. Ademas, rindio un homenaje a Victor Jara, cantando a coro con las 300 personas que colmaban el local sindical la cancion "Plegaria de un labrador".

Reed agradecio el obsequio y expreso que "ustedes no estan solos. Hay millones de personas en todas las naciones del mundo que estan apoyando su lucha". Su actuacion duro case una hora y termino con la cancion "Venceremos", coreada por el publico presente que, como entrada, llevo un kilo de alimentos o remedios para ayudar a los trabajadores despedidos.

El gobernador Provincial, teniente coronel Raul Moyano, hizo llegar una nota a las directivas de los sindicatos industriales, Sewel y Mina y Caletones, en la cual les hacia notar que el cantante Dean Reed "no se encuentra facultado ni cuenta con autorizacion para efectuar este tipo de presentaciones".

No se registraron manifestaciones al termino de la actuacion.

RANCAGUA (By Maria Cristina Prudant). The north american singer Dean Reed performed for the miners of El Teniente in a show at the Industrial Union Sewel and Mine, in benefit of the workers fired of the company.

In spite of the repeated warnings from the regional authorities, informing him that he couldn't do any kind of presentations, he went up on stage to receive a little present from the workers and before the exigencies of the public he sang several songs in English and Spanish. Besides, he paid tribute to Victor Jara singing to chorus with the 300 people that filled the Union premises the song "Plegaria de un labrador".

Reed gave thanks for the present and expressed that "You are not alone. There are millions of people in all the nations of the world that are supporting your fight". His performance lasted almost an hour and ended with the song "Venceremos", sung by the public who in order to get in, had to pay with a kilogram of food or medicines to help the fired workers.

The Provincial Governor, Lieutenant Colonel Raul Moyano, sent a note to the Sewel and Mina and Caletones union directors saying that Dean Reed the singer "Is not authorized, neither has the permission from the authorities for these kind of presentations to take effect".

No demonstrations were registered at the end of his performance.

RANCAGUA (Von Maria Cristina Prudant). - Der US-amerikanische Sänger Dean Reed trat vor den Bergarbeitern von El Teniente mit einer Show auf, die bei der Gewerkschaft Sewel y Mina als Benefizveranstaltung für die aus dem Unternehmen entlassenen Arbeiter stattfand.

Obwohl die regionalen Behörden ihn wiederholt darauf hingewiesen hatten, dass er in keiner Weise auftreten darf, stieg der Künstler auf die Bühne, um ein kleines Geschenk der Arbeiter entgegenzunehmen. Dann sang er, weil das Publikum es von ihm verlangte, mehrere Lieder auf Englisch und Spanisch. Außerdem erwies er Victor Jara seine Ehre, indem er zusammen mit einem gewaltigen Chor aus den 300 Menschen, die in dem Gewerkschaftssaal anwesend waren, das Lied "Plegaria de un labrador" sang.

Reed bedankte sich für das Geschenk und sagte: "Ihr seid nicht allein. Millionen Menschen auf der ganzen Welt unterstützen euren Kampf." Sein Auftritt dauerte fast eine Stunde und endete mit dem Lied "Venceremos", das das Publikum im Chor mitsang. Die Besucher hatten jeder ein Kilo Lebensmittel oder Hilfsgüter für die entlassenen Arbeiter mitgebracht.

Der Regierungschef der Provinz, Oberstleutnant Raul Moyano, sandte den Leitungen der Industriegewerkschaften Sewel y Mina und Caletones eine Note, in der er ihnen mitteilte, dass der Sänger Dean Reed "nicht berechtigt ist und auch nicht über die Genehmigung verfügt, diese Art von Auftritten durchzuführen."

Am Ende des Auftrittes gab es keine Kundgebung.
