The Red Elvis: Spotlight on the Dean Reed Collection
History Colorado has recently finished processing the Dean Reed collection, which contains thousands of photos, manuscripts, records and even some of Reed's clothing!

This collection contains correspondence, scrapbooks, interviews, scripts, newspaper and magazine articles, sound recordings, photographs, and other materials dating from circa 1950-1995 that document the life and career of singer, actor, and activist Dean Cyril Reed (1838-1986).
History Colorado also holds artifacts related to Dean Reed in its collection, including movie posters, vinyl records (33 1/3 rpm and 45 rpm), and clothing.

I have placed media archives, film, video tapes, sound tapes, interviews, etc (about 20 trunks worth of materials!) with Colorado History (the Colorado Historical Society, Keith Schrum, curator of the collection) at their new musuem in Denver. These materials will substantially enlarge the collection of materials that Renate Blume-Reed generously donated to the Historical Society in 1989. An exhibit is in the planning. This may take some years. Will Roberts, "American Rebel", Online newspaper September 19, 2014 Die medialen Archivalien, Film, Videos, Tonbänder, Interviews etc. (etwa 20 Koffer mit Material) habe ich an Colorado History (The Colorado History Society mit Keith Schrum als Kurator der Sammlung) für ihr neues Museum in Denver übergeben. Diese Materialien werden die Kollektion von Material, das Renate Blume 1989 großzügig der Historical Society geschenkt hat, substantiell vergrößern. Eine Ausstellung wird bereits geplant.
