'Comrade Rockstar'To the Editor: In his review of "Comrade Rockstar," by Reggie Nadelson (July 9), Thomas Mallon writes: "Reed's Russian minders would wind him up so that his hips could swivel while he mouthed the slogans of the Party." True, but irrelevant. Back in those days (I emigrated in 1979) we, the average folks, loved Dean Reed - his great looks, his self-confidence, his rocking and all that. For us it all signified America. His Party sloganeering was as easily dismissed as, by that time, the Party itself.
