Dean Reed anuncia que cantara en El Teniente

"Mañana voy a cantarles a los mineros de El Teniente. También los voy a saludar y conversaré sobre las experiencias de ellos y las mías". Así lo señaló a "La Segunda" hoy el cantante norteamericano Dean Reed, que en la actualidad reside en la DDR y que se hiciera "famoso" en nuestro país cuando se dedicó a las canciones de protesta en tiempos de la UP [Unidad Popular] y cuando se le ocurrió encabezar una manifestación con "lavado de bandera" frente al consulado de los Estados Unidos en Santaiago, en esa misma época.

El cantante se encuentra desde el lunes en nuestro Chile - con visa de turista y alojado en la casa de la actriz María Maluenda - y según dijo a nuestro diario "vine a demostrar con mi presencia la solidaridad hacia este pueblo que tanto quiero".

Dean Reed indicó que tiene una variada carpeta de actividades en Santiago. Dijo que para mañana en la tarde tiene presupuestada una visita a las diferentes sedes de los sindicatos del mineral de El Teniente, en Rancagua. Según indicó, el acto central se llevará a cabo en la sede del Sindicato Industrial Sewel y Mina, donde Reed cantará algunos temas y además se dirigirá a los trabajadores presentes. Para el próximo viernes, el artista tiene planeada una reunión con diversos estudiantes universitarios.

Dijo finalmente que de nuestro país viajará a Berlín, donde dará una serie de conciertos.

For the next Friday, the artist has planned a meeting with diverse university students.

He said finally that after visit our country he will travel to Berlin, where he will perform a series of concerts.

"Morgen werde ich vor den Bergarbeitern in El Teniente singen. Ich werde sie auch grüßen und mit ihnen über ihre und meine Erlebnisse sprechen." Das erklärte Dean Reed heute gegenüber "La Segunda". Der US-amerikanische Sänger, der gegenwärtig in der DDR wohnt, war in unserem Land "berühmt" geworden, als er in den Zeiten der Unidad Popular Protestlieder sang. Damals führte er auch eine Protestdemonstration an und wusch die USA-Flagge vor der Botschaft der Vereinigten Staaten in Santiango.

Der Sänger hält sich seit Montag mit einem Touristenvisum in Chile auf. Er wohnt im Haus der Schauspielerin Maria Maluenda und ist, wie er erklärte, gekommen, "um durch meine Anwesenheit meine Solidarität mit diesem Volk auszudrücken, das ich so sehr liebe."

Dean Reed wies darauf hin, dass er verschiedene Aktivitäten in Santiago geplant hat. Wie er sagt, wird er morgen Nachmittag die Berarbeitergewerkschaften von El Teniente in Rancagua besuchen. Die zentrale Veranstaltung wird am Sitz der Industriegewerkschaft Sewel y Mina stattfinden, wo Dean Reed einige Lieder singen und zu den anwesenden Arbeitern sprechen wird. Für nächsten Freitag hat der Künstler ein Treffen mit einigen Universitätsstudenten geplant.

Er sagte abschließend, dass er von unserem Land aus nach Berlin reisen wird, wo er eine Reihe von Konzerten geben wird.
