Том Ханкс ще снима филм за соцзвездата Дийн Рийд

Българският зет Том Ханкс подготвя филм за легендарния в бившия Източен блок актьор и певец Дийн Рийд, съобщи "Дойче веле". Работното заглавие е "Другарят Рокзвезда".

Роденият в САЩ изпълнител беше много популярен в социалистическите страни - от ГДР до Сибир. Приел идеите на комунизма в началото на 70-те години, той се премества да живее в Източен Берлин. Кариерата му е шеметна, но през юни 1986 г. бе открит мъртъв в езерото Цойхнер край града.

Първоначално се предполага, че Рийд е убит от ЩАЗИ. Версията гласи, че той се е разочаровал от живота на Изток и убийството е извършено, за да се попречи на евентуалното му завръщане в Америка.

Объркването е пълно, след като пък източногерманската информационна агенция АДН разпространява съобщението, че Рийд е жертва на "трагичен инцидент". В действителност Дийн посяга на живота си в момент на отчаяние и дълбока депресия, след като третата му съпруга - германската актриса Ренате Блуме, го напуска. Дни преди самоубийството си певецът изпраща писмо до лидера на ГДР Ерих Хонекер, в което описва личните си и професионални неволи.

Освен певец Дийн Рийд е сценарист, режисьор и титулярен актьор във филма "Ел Кантор", сниман в София и показван многократно по източногерманската телевизия през 80-те години. Като статисти в него участват 10.000 български комсомолци.

Tom Hanks is going to make a film about the socialist star Dean Reed

"Deustche Welle" reported that actor Tom Hanks, who is married to a Bulgarian, is preparing a film about Dean Reed - an actor, singer and a legend in the former Eastern Bloc. The working title is "Comrade Rockstar".

The USA-born performer was very popular in the socialist countries - from GDR to Siberia. Having adopted the ideas of Communism at the beginning of the 1970s, he moved to live in East Berlin. His career was extremely successful but in June 1986 he was found dead in the Zeuthener See near East Berlin.

At first, it was assumed that Dean Reed was murdered by STASI. He was said to be disappointed with life in East Berlin and the murder prevented him from coming back to the USA.

The confusion became even greater when the news agency in the German Democratic Republic ADN announced that Dean Reed was a victim of a "tragic accident". In fact, Dean Reed commited a suicide in a moment of despair and deep depression after his third wife - the German actress Renate Blume, left him. A couple of days before the suicide the singer sent a letter to the East German leader Erich Honecker; in the letter he described his professional and personal problems.

Apart from being a singer, Dean Reed also wrote, directed and played the main part in the film "El Cantor", which was shot in Sofia and was frequently broadcasted on the East German TV in the 1980s. 10.000 Bulgarians appeared in the film as extras.
