American Singer A Hit In MoscowMOSCOW - Dean Reed, a young American singer, was cheered and applauded in Moscow's Variety Theatre after a spirited performance in which the audience joined to sing and clap to rock'n'roll music. The singer several times raced from the stage to dance the twist in the center aisle with delighted girls and one gray-haired woman whose matronly reserve was briefly forgotten in the excitement. The 28-year-old singer, who sings folk songs, ballads, Latin American songs, show tunes and self-written antiwar appeals, has performed in nine Soviet cities, including Leningrad, Tiflis, Baku and Riga. |
