El apuesto cantante norteamericano, que impuso temas populares como "Nuestro amor veraniego", "Annabelle", "No la dejes ir", escribió personalmente a "ECRAN", anunciando su gira por Sudamérica y Santiago de Chile, para fines de febrero. En la contraportada de esta edición publicamos copia fotostática de la carta que Dean Reed nos enviara y que dice textualmente: "Quiero agradecer a usted y al personal de su revista, los amables artículos que han publicado sobre mí. Me gustaron mucho. Viajo a Sudamérica y a Santiago de Chile, en una gira que comenzará a mediados de febrero hasta la primera quincena de marzo. Cualquier cosa que su revista pueda hacer para estimular mi gira se lo agradeceré mucho. Sinceramente, espero tener oportunidad de conocerla personalmente, los mismo que a su personal y agradecerles todo lo que han hecho por mí. Comprometerá mi gratitud si me envía dos ejemplares de la revista en que publicaron sobre mí, a la dirección indicada más arriba. Espero conocerla personalmente. Hasta entonces, quedo sinceramente suyo, Dean Reed".

La noticia no puede ser más grata y la anunciamos con alegría. Ya enviamos las revistas solicitadas por Dean Reed, y lo invitamos a que sea huésped de nuestro primer Té para Diez, en 1961.

Les mantendremos informados sobre este proyecto y también publicaremos mayores detalles de las actividades últimas de Dean Reed y del itinerario de su gira por Sudamérica. Dear Sir,

I want to thank you and your entire staff for being so kind to me by writing articles on me in your magazines. I appreciate it very much.

I am going to South America and Santiago on a tour the latter part of Feb. or the first part of March. Anything which your magazine might do to help promote my tour would be greatly appreciated. I sincerely hope that at that time I can meet you and your staff and thank them personally for everything which they have done.

I would be very indebted to you if you could send me a couple copies of your magazine in which I appeared to the above address.

I am looking foward to our meeting.

The news couldn't be better and we gladly communicate it. We already sent him the requested magazines and we invited him to be our guest in our first Tea for Ten, in 1961.

We will keep you informed and we will tell you about the latest activities and the itinerary of Dean Reed in South America. Besides, we feel very proud that Dean Reed had the initiative of asking "ECRAN" to support him with information about him. Auf der Rückseite dieser Ausgabe veröffentlichen wir die Fotokopie des Briefes, den Dean Reed uns geschickt hat und in dem es wörtlich heißt: "Ich möchte euch und den Mitarbeitern Ihrer Zeitschrift für die freundlichen Artikel, die ihr über mich veröffentlicht habt, danken. Sie haben mir sehr gefallen. Ich werde von Mitte Februar bis Mitte März eine Tournee durch Südamerika machen und dabei auch nach Santiago de Chile kommen. Ich bin Ihnen sehr dankbar für alles, was Ihre Zeitschrift zur Unterstützung meiner Tournee tut. Ich möchte Sie und Ihre Mitarbeiter gern persönlich kennenlernen, um mich für Ihre Hilfe zu bedanken. Ich wäre Ihnen sehr dankbar, wenn Sie zwei Exemplare der Ausgabe, in der Sie über mich berichtet haben, an die oben angegebene Adresse schicken könnten. Ich hoffe, Sie persönlich kennenlernen zu können.

Die Nachricht kann nicht besser sein und wir geben sie gern weiter. Wir haben die von Dean Reed gewünschten Zeitschriften bereits abgeschickt und ihn eingeladen, bei unserem ersten "Tee für Zehn" 1961 unser Gast zu sein.

Wir werden Sie über dieses Projekt auf dem Laufenden halten und auch noch weitere Einzelheiten zu den jüngsten Aktivitäten von Dean Reed sowie den Plan seiner Tournee durch Südamerika veröffentlichen.
